To Die or Not to Die
Which one do you choose?
I am a Diabetes type 2 survivor because of lifestyle changing in the past two years.
Diabetes is chronic disease that leads to heart disease, kidney failure, and stoke.
Diabetes creates complications ; wounds are hard to heal, poor circulation, leading
to leg amputation, water in the lung and sepsis infection etc(3).
I decided that my life is in my hands so I will keep it for longer.
What are the changes I have made so I can prolong my life?
Wrong Diet: Most food I eat are trans fat such as cookies, white bread and white rice and pasta.
Tran fat harms the body and increases insulin resistance(4).
Amount of food I ate was more than I needed and I ate sugar, fat, protein and carbohydrates
so I gained weight, BMI( Body Mass Index): 32. I am obese. I tried using a small plate,
therefore, I have to use more energy to prepare it and get it. And chewing the food slowly,
I feel full so quickly. Before, I ate food very quickly without chewing it properly.
That is why my blood sugar level is up and down all day. I am addicted to sugar.
But I win.
However, it depends on your will power.
How?
I like sweetness in fresh beetroot so I shredded it and added it to salad and dessert.
I only use two tablespoons in salad or dessert to satisfy my craving and I get fibre,
vitamins and minerals.
Polyphenols and antioxidants( 5). Nitrate in beetroot reduces bloodpressure(6)
and relaxing blood vessels(7).
Do you know that cabbage is sweet? I cut the cabbage into small sections,
soaking in cold water and it is so crunchy.
Now my kidney is improved( 1 ).
It is clear, not much of a radical residue after digestion.
I cut down " White Sugar." or sugar-added soft drinks.
Everytime I eat cake or a sugary drink, I have a Gout attack.
Sugar breaks down to uric acid to enter my joint and it is inflamed(8).
The last card is to use sugar substitute for example sucralose, Xylitol, Speeda and Stevia.
Sucralose is the best sugar substitute for my taste and price wise but it is not for indulgence.
Only when it is necessary. A lot of people fail because they are addicted to sugar.
The body produces sugar when it needs it by changing fat to sugar.
I will use this for our advantages.
Using Intermittent fasting to burn fat on my belly. I have 8 hours of eating period then 16 hours of burning fat.
During 16 hours I drink only water, ginger water, lemon water, green tea, black tea or black coffee.
During the fasting period the spleen is resting and the body can repair the body.
Then the cleaning process begins each night from midnight to 2 am.
Not enough sleep during this time, the body cannot clean the damaged cells, free radical
and excessive fat. We need deep sleep to be healthy.
I need to increase wholemeal bread, brown rice and green vegetables and fruits
that are low in sugar i.e apple, kiwi, blueberry and strawberries.
They release sugar slowly for a long time because taking time to digest
so the sugar blood level is stable.
Colourful vegetables are not only pleasing to the eyes but keep our eyes healthy
for example carrot, beet root, aubergine, purple cabbage.
No varieties of food is the wrong way to eat food and I eat the same thing all the time.
Therefore, the body lacks vitamins and minerals.
The right food is the right protein suitable for my conditions.
My condition is Gout, Arthritis, Angina, Asthma, Kidney damage, and blood vessel problem.
They are connected by stress, sleeplessness and a bad environment.
Stress from work with cat hair dirt created chronic asthma in 2005.
I used blue inhaler and brown inhaler to repair my lung in 2012.
After Giving up working as a Community Support Officer, I fixed Asthma for good with mindful meditation.
Using meditation( 9 ), it saved my life during Chronic Asthma. My lung was bombarded with pollen.
It is like a thousand needles punching my lung. I could not go out in the garden when the pollen was high.
At night, I stopped breathing and had the same nightmares that I won't wake up, I will die.
It is the same most nights.
Using Mindfulness Meditation calmed my mind and relaxed me without panic.

Gout and Angina happened at the same time when I worked as an MLM consultant. The vessel in my heart had blockages showing in the ECG graph and tight chest so I went to hospital, had tested and had Statin medication for a month to clear the blockage.
I had Gout attacks in 2007 many years before Diabetes began in 2021.
Unfortunately, I did not deal with Gout seriously because I was too busy working. Sadly, if I had dealt with Gout, I might not have diabetes now.
Gout shows that my body has excessive uric acid in my bloodstream. My body cannot get rid of it naturally.
The causes are eating too much and eating the wrong protein such as beef, lamb, pork, seafood and animal internal organs which are high in purine. Each person responds to animal protein differently so checking with your body which meat causes attack but it is so painful. The more Gout attacks, the more days of suffering increase and take longer to heal. "Prevention is better than cure."
Eating too much creates free radicals so the body creates uric acid to protect the body from free radicals. Eat less, will reduce uric acid.(18)
The other way to reduce uric acid as follows:
- Drink alkaline water at least 2 litres by sipping all day.
- Drink celery juice or chewing it with virgin mary drink ( tomato juice with one dash not more Worchester sauce).
- Drinking black coffee is diuretic. As a result, you urinate more.
Wrong protein from animals causes high purine(15) then purine produces uric acid that crystallises in the joints when the body's acidity. Crystalised uric acid causes excruciating pain in joints which is red,hot, swollen and so painful even when clothes blow and touch it.
How do you know your body is too acidic?
Measure uric acid in your blood when your health is reviewed each year for free. Alternatively, you can buy uric acid test strips in urine ( One pound a strip) from Amazon or ebay who supplied equipment to the NHS.
The other way is uric acid crystals in joints when only your body is too acidic. After drinking alkaline water at night it allows the body to be alkaline and uric acid can dissolve in urine via urination.
My body is too acidic, which can be reduced
by eating celery juice, chewing celery stalks or drinking alkaline water in the morning and at night after evening meal 2 hours.Not during meal time, it will cause indigestion. It helps the body to release uric acid via urination.
Dr Otto Warburge won the Nobel Prize in 1931 in cell chemistry. In his research that inspires so many scientists to find the cure for cancer and so many diseases.
His work mentions the follows:

Be careful, female after menopause, our body lacks capacity to get rid of uric acid. Females before menopause hardly have problems with uric acid.Oestrogen helps release excessive uric acid out of the body.
Research female increases uric acid to be 8 dl will have increased Kidney damage 11 times,more than male patient.
“Women with high uric acid levels had a higher risk of developing metabolic syndrome [28], diabetes [29,30], hypertension [7], coronary artery disease [31,32], and cardiovascular events [9,23] than men. Sex differences have appeared in the physiological regulation of urate homeostasis. Estrogen may play an important role in the regulation of the expression or activity of urate transporters [33] (20).”
The reason to become a vegetarian.
If I became vegetarian in 2013 and eat just enough energy that the body needs, I will not have a big belly. "The man called Beer Belly. " For females, a Diabetes nurse called me "pregnant for 30 years."
Until my belly reduces from 41 inches to 31 inches, or the mass index comes down to 25 from 32 now. I measure the size of my belly which is 41 inches instead of 31 inches. To reduce my belly in 3 months by becoming Vegetarian and light exercises daily. We will talk more about exercise later.
Now I eat only two meals a day. Breakfast, I can have a big meal with fruit such as one banana. Bananas are high in carbohydrates. Evening meal at 18.00 salad with protein such as Boiled egg, Sheep cheese, with colourful salad.
I ate at the wrong time before going to bed around 11-12 midnight.
The carbohydrate turns to be more sugar and turns into fat collecting on my belly and my liver. If I only ate suitable protein like eggs , I would feel full longer and not hungry at night.
The way I used to eat encouraged insulin resistance.
Why do I have Diabetes type 2?
My body cannot use insulin that the body produces too much as a result I have skin tags on my neck left size. After having insulin resistance for years. My blood pressure started to be higher than 120/80 or 200/97. As my body works through stress until the high blood pressure stays for a long time so I have bloodshot in my eyes and nose bleeding consecutively for two weeks. Paramedics attended me three times during two weeks. Feel sleepy at 6pm and I need to sleep.
My job was a healthcare profession, long hours, overworked and underpaid. I wanted to help during Covid-19 spreading and it was so scary at the beginning. Sleeping is less than 5 hours a day. Traffic jams, working under huge pressure between life and death all the time, create stress to my body for three years. Covid-19 increased the intensity of stress.
After my mum kicked the bucket for two months, I quitted my job to recover. The cause of her death is Diabetes type 2 the same as I have.
I felt that if I do not take care of myself. If not me, who will.
2. Exercises
The most important thing for diabetes patients to do each day is light exercise to keep joints and muscles subtle and strong. The exercise must be suitable for each person and each condition. Diabetes leads to other chronic diseases such as Arthritis, Heart Disease, Stoke and Kidney failure. I cannot do high impact exercise so Yoka, walking, gardening, Tai Chi is wonderful exercise at least 5 days a week. The exercise helps with good circulation, good sleep, growth hormone, feeling happy and burning fat. Walking after each meal is good practice{2}.
